 Pastor Maria Luiza Rodriguez was born in Brazil in 1982 and moved to the United States in 1997. In 2007, her life was transformed when she surrendered to Jesus Christ after searching for fulfillment in many places.

On September 11, 2022, she became Lead Pastor of Brooklyn Hope Free Methodist Church in Brooklyn, New York. She serves with faith, humility, and a deep dependence on the Lord.

Pastor Maria Luiza is passionate about helping people grow in their relationship with God and live in daily dependence on Him. She loves leading others into the presence of God, where lives are transformed and identity and purpose are found in Christ.

At Brooklyn Hope, she leads with the conviction that we are all under construction—being restored and renewed through Jesus for His glory.

Pastor Joel Guzman served four decades at Revival House, NJ and The Remnant, Bronx, NY in pastoral care, administration and outreach. Concurrently served as bilingual educator in NJ and NYC. Presently NJ/NYC Regional FMC Superintendent, Associate Pastor and mentor at Brooklyn Hope.
